Dear Lisa - Renee, Alex and I send our earnest thoughts and prayers for you during this extremely difficult time. While we attended the memorial service on Sunday, I am sorry we were unable to greet you, there were so many mourners. The soothing words from the minister and Mr. Ardito were uplifting. Elan was such a great kid and I will always remember his love and zest for the game of baseball during Little League days. His enthusiasm and desire to perform at the highest level and to win were infectious. And such an impressive young man he became - years later (about a year ago, as a matter of fact), I heard someone say "hi Mr. Marengo" outside of CVS and I had to do a double take since I had not seen him in such a while, nor do I usually hear anyone address me that way - no surprise – it was Elan. I was so touched by this. You did such a tremendous job raising him, especially as a single Mom much of his life. I hope you find solace during this agonizing time in knowing how pleased God surely is in how you shaped Elan. May you be eternally rewarded for being the loving Mom you were for him. May the angels escort Elan's soul into the embrace of God in heaven. And may He bless and and keep you always.
